Couples & Individual Therapy for Fort Worth, Online

Couples therapy and marriage counseling for Fort Worth residents, online, from my Southlake-based practice. Straightforward, warm, and built for real life, including for the partner who isn't sure about therapy.

Online couples therapy for Fort Worth, TX

I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in Southlake, northeast of Fort Worth. I've practiced in North Texas since 2010 and have been fully online since 2020, so I don't have an office in Fort Worth. Couples here meet with me by secure video from home or any private space in Texas.

Has communication become a chore? Does conflict feel unproductive and exhausting? Do you wish for a deeper connection but don't know where to start? Couples therapy can help you rebuild, reconnect, and revive your relationship.

For the partner who'd rather not talk about it

Fort Worth has its own identity, and plenty of people here will happily tell you it is not Dallas. In my experience, that independent streak sometimes shows up in couples therapy, too. Often one partner is ready to start and the other would honestly rather fix the fence than talk about feelings.

If that's your partner, or you, here's what I want you to know:

  • Nobody gets ganged up on. The relationship is my focus, not proving who's right. That's why both of you attend from the first session, so I can build a balanced relationship with each of you.
  • It's practical. Along with understanding emotions, we work on concrete skills: how to start a hard conversation, how to take a break without walking out, how to repair after a fight.
  • You set the pace. You don't have to share everything at once. Curiosity works better than pressure.
  • It's from your own living room. For many reluctant partners, skipping the waiting room makes the first step a lot easier.

Hesitant partners are often surprised by how relieving it is to finally be heard without the conversation turning into another argument.

What the first session feels like

A lot of hesitation comes from not knowing what actually happens, so here's what to expect. After our phone consultation, you'll sit down together somewhere private and open a secure video link a few minutes before we start. I'll ask what brought you here, and I'll want to hear from both of you, in your own words. I'm interested in your history as a couple, what's working, and where you keep getting stuck.

You won't be asked to air everything in the first hour. By the end, my hope is that you'll each feel understood, have a clearer picture of the pattern between you, and know what we'd focus on together. Then you decide whether to keep going.

Why online therapy fits Fort Worth life

Whether you live near TCU, the Cultural District, the Stockyards, or out past Loop 820, getting across town at rush hour on I-35W or I-30 can eat an evening. Online sessions remove the commute entirely. Because the patterns you want to change happen at home, practicing new skills there tends to carry over into daily life. Phone sessions are available if you prefer them.

What we can work on

In therapy, we explore the assumptions and emotional blocks that get in the way of intimacy and healthy communication. I get to know each of you and focus on the space between you, where "you and me" becomes "us." Fort Worth couples come to me with communication problems, recurring conflict, intimacy concerns, trust after infidelity, and premarital questions.

I integrate the Gottman Method, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Internal Family Systems, mindfulness, and skill-building. Read more about my couples and marriage therapy.

Getting started

Every new couple begins with a free phone consultation, which I require before the first appointment. Both partners attend from the first session. We meet on SimplePractice's secure telehealth platform, and both of you need to be located in Texas during the session.

Couples sessions are $230 and individual sessions are $200. I'm out of network with all insurance and provide superbills for out-of-network reimbursement. I ask for 24 hours' notice to cancel. See rates and insurance.

Individual therapy for Fort Worth adults

Not here as a couple? This is for you, too.

I work primarily with couples and with individual adults. If you live in Fort Worth and want space of your own to work through anxiety, low mood, self-esteem, identity, a life transition or the patterns that keep showing up in your relationships, individual therapy gives you that, by secure video from home.

For deeper, focused work, I also offer individual therapy intensives. Individual sessions are $200 for 45 to 55 minutes, and every new client starts with a free phone consultation.

Questions

Therapy in Fort Worth: FAQs

Do you have an office in Fort Worth?

No. My practice is online only and based in Southlake. Fort Worth couples meet with me by secure video or phone from home or any private space in Texas. I haven't seen clients in person since 2020, so there's no office to drive to and no waiting room.

My partner is skeptical about therapy. Should we still try?

Yes. Skepticism is common, and it's welcome in the room. The free phone consultation is a good low-pressure place for a hesitant partner to ask questions. In sessions, I stay balanced, focus on the relationship rather than on blame, and mix emotional understanding with practical skills you can use right away.

What if we're not comfortable meeting online?

That's a valid concern. Talk to me about it so I can try to make you more comfortable. Most couples settle in after a session or two. If video therapy just doesn't work for you, I can refer you to a clinician who sees people face to face.

Do you offer phone sessions?

Yes. Phone sessions are available for people who prefer them. For couples, video usually helps because I can see how you respond to each other, but phone can work well for some people or as a backup on a day when video isn't possible.

What is your cancellation policy?

I ask for 24 hours' notice to cancel. Late cancellations and no-shows are charged the full session fee, though emergencies are handled case by case. I keep a card on file through Ivy Pay, and I'll do my best to contact you before any late-cancellation charge.
