Does this sound familiar?

You don’t have to have the words for it yet.

  • I've been seeing this couple for months and we keep circling the same fight.
  • I'm not sure whether I'm missing something cultural or bringing my own assumptions.
  • My client's family system is pulling me in, and I can feel myself taking sides.
  • This client's trauma history is complex, and I want a second set of eyes.
  • I just need to think out loud with someone who does this work.

When a Case Feels Stuck

As a therapist, you bring your empathy, expertise, and passion into every session. But sometimes even the most seasoned professionals encounter cases that feel stuck: complex client dynamics, unresolved trauma, or cultural nuances that need a fresh perspective.

That's where I come in. I offer trauma-informed, culturally competent clinical consultation for therapists in Texas. Together, we'll work through the roadblocks in your cases, giving you insights and tools to support your clients more effectively while strengthening your own professional growth.

Why Consult With Me

Trauma-informed

I have years of experience in trauma-focused therapy, including EMDR and Internal Family Systems training, and I'll help you unpack the layers of unresolved pain and adaptive behaviors that may be keeping your clients from progress.

Culturally competent

I deeply understand how cultural identity, systemic oppression, and intersectionality shape your clients' lived experiences. Together, we'll approach their struggles with the sensitivity they deserve and the strategies they need.

Practical solutions for complex cases

I know what it's like to feel stuck. My approach is collaborative, grounded, and actionable, so you leave each consultation with clear, practical next steps.

Who Can Benefit From Clinical Consultation

Consultation is a good fit for:

  • Therapists seeking support with clients who have experienced complex trauma
  • Clinicians working through cross-cultural misunderstandings or unconscious biases in therapy
  • Counselors working with clients from marginalized communities who need culturally attuned care
  • Couples and family therapists who feel stuck in a relational case
  • Any licensed mental health professional ready to expand their skill set and deliver more effective therapy

You don't need to be in crisis with a case to benefit. Some clinicians come with one urgent question. Others want a regular space to think more deeply about their work and grow their confidence with couples, trauma, or culturally complex presentations.

“You're not alone in this work. Let's turn “stuck” into meaningful progress.”

Couples Therapy Case Consultation

Couples and relational work is the heart of my practice, and it's where many clinicians feel least supported. Individual training doesn't always prepare you for two people who each want you on their side, or for a cycle that escalates faster than you can slow it down.

In couples therapy case consultation, we might look at:

  • Mapping the couple's negative cycle and each partner's underlying attachment fears
  • Staying balanced when you feel pulled toward one partner
  • Working with affairs, secrets, and the question of individual sessions
  • Pacing when one partner is leaning out of the relationship
  • When to slow down and when to refer, such as safety concerns or specialized sexual health needs

I draw on training in the Gottman Method (Level 1), an Externship in Emotionally Focused Therapy, and several years of continuing education with Esther Perel, including Rethinking Infidelity and Inside the Office of Esther Perel, a live couples therapy and supervision training. You can read more about how I approach couples and marriage therapy.

Culture, Faith, and Family Systems in Consultation

Some cases get stuck because the frameworks we learned in graduate school weren't built with our clients in mind. I'm glad to consult on cases where cultural identity, religion, or family structure is central, including:

  • South Asian clients navigating extended-family expectations, marriage, and loyalty between generations
  • Muslim clients (Ismaili, Sunni, Shia) and how faith and community shape choices about marriage, conflict, and help-seeking
  • Interfaith and intercultural couples
  • LGBTQIA+ clients, including couples with a transgender or nonbinary partner and clients managing coming out within religious or traditional families
  • Clients who are atheist, agnostic, or spiritual but not religious within devout families

We'll also look at what you bring to the room, because cultural attunement includes noticing our own assumptions. You can learn more about my approach to multicultural issues.

Format, Fee, and What to Bring

Consultation is individual, held online, and lasts 50 minutes. The fee is $175. It's designed for fully licensed therapists who want case support, a fresh lens, or help building skills in couples, trauma, or culturally responsive work. You can schedule a single session for one case or meet regularly.

Please bring de-identified case information only. Leave out names, dates of birth, employers, and other details that could identify your client, and share only what's needed to think the case through. A brief summary, the presenting concern, what you've tried, and the question you most want answered is a great place to start.

Consultation is collaborative, peer-level support. You bring the case and your questions; you remain responsible for your own clinical decisions.

Let's Get Unstuck, Together

In our consultations, you'll gain clarity on your client's unique needs through a trauma-informed and culturally responsive lens, personalized strategies to break through therapeutic impasses, and validation and support in a non-judgmental, collaborative space.

Whether you're dealing with a specific case or looking to strengthen your cultural awareness and trauma competency overall, I'm here to help. You're not alone in this work. If what's weighing on you is more personal than clinical, therapy for therapists may be the better place to start. Ready for the next step? Schedule a free phone consultation, and let's turn “stuck” into meaningful progress for you and the people you serve.

Questions

Clinical Consultation: common questions

Don’t see yours? Browse all FAQs or send me a note.

Who is your clinical consultation for therapists in Texas designed for?

It's for fully licensed therapists, including LMFTs, LPCs, LCSWs, and psychologists, who want case support in couples and relational work, trauma, or culturally responsive care. Consultation is held online, so clinicians anywhere in Texas can meet with me from wherever they practice.

How much does consultation cost and how long is a session?

Individual clinical consultation is $175 for a 50-minute session, held online. You can book a single session for a specific case or schedule ongoing consultation. I'm happy to talk through what you're looking for during a free phone consultation first.

How should I share client information?

Please bring de-identified information only. Leave out names, birthdates, workplaces, and other identifying details, and share just what's needed to think the case through. A short summary, the presenting problem, what you've tried, and your main question make for a focused session.

Can I book a single consultation, or do we need to meet regularly?

Either works. Some therapists book one 50-minute session to think through a single stuck case. Others meet monthly or every few weeks for ongoing support with couples work, trauma, or culturally complex cases. We can decide together what rhythm fits your caseload and your goals.

Can you help with couples therapy case consultation specifically?

Yes, it's my specialty. We can look at negative cycles, attachment fears, staying balanced between partners, infidelity, secrets, and when individual sessions make sense. I bring Gottman Method Level 1 training, an EFT Externship, and continuing education with Esther Perel to the conversation.

Do you consult on cases involving South Asian or Muslim clients?

Yes. I'm glad to consult when culture, faith, or family structure is central to a case, including South Asian family systems, Ismaili, Sunni, and Shia Muslim clients, interfaith couples, and LGBTQIA+ clients in religious or traditional families. We'll also explore what you bring to the room.
