Couples & Individual Therapy for Colleyville, Online

I offer couples therapy for Colleyville residents by secure video, from my Southlake-based practice. Whether you're five years in or thirty, we can look at what's happening between you with curiosity instead of blame.

Couples therapy for Colleyville couples, online

I'm a Southlake-based Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I've practiced in North Texas since 2010 and moved fully online in 2020, so I don't see clients in an office in Colleyville or anywhere else. Sessions happen by secure video, and you join from home, anywhere in Texas.

When your relationship hurts, you hurt. You may be dealing with the same problems over and over without finding resolution, or missing the closeness you used to take for granted. The relationship you want is within reach. It takes dedication and conscious effort, and you don't have to figure it out alone.

Long marriages and changing seasons

Colleyville is a family town, and many of the couples I hear from here have been together a long time. They've built careers, raised children through Grapevine-Colleyville schools, and put years into a home. Then a new season arrives, and the relationship that ran smoothly on autopilot suddenly doesn't.

Some of the shifts that bring long-term couples to therapy:

  • The quieter house. When kids launch, couples sometimes discover they've been relating mostly as co-parents. The question becomes, "Who are we now?"
  • Old resentments resurfacing. Hurts that got shelved during the busy years tend to come back once there's room for them.
  • Caring for aging parents while still showing up for adult children, and feeling stretched between generations.
  • Changes in desire or health that neither of you quite knows how to talk about.

These are normal turning points, not signs of failure. In therapy, we slow the patterns down so you can see them clearly, and then we practice new ways of reaching for each other. Sometimes that work extends to the wider family. I also offer family therapy for adult families, including parents and their grown children, and I've written about building a great relationship with your adult child.

Rebuilding trust after infidelity

Some long marriages come to therapy after an affair, or after the discovery of secrets kept for years. It can feel as if the whole history of the relationship has been rewritten overnight.

I've trained with Esther Perel on rethinking infidelity, along with the Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy, and I bring all of that to this work. We make room for the hurt partner's shock and grief without rushing toward forgiveness. We also make room for the partner who strayed to understand what happened, not as an excuse, but as information. Over time, the question becomes what kind of relationship you want to build from here, and how to build it with honesty.

There's no timeline I'll push you toward. Recovery after betrayal moves at the pace trust can be rebuilt.

Why online therapy works for Colleyville schedules

Between commutes along SH 26 and 121, work trips out of DFW Airport, and family commitments that don't stop just because the kids are older, finding an hour that works for two people is hard enough. Online sessions take the drive out of the equation.

Meeting from home also offers a kind of privacy that matters in a close-knit community. And because the patterns you want to change live at home, practicing there tends to help them stick. If you prefer, phone sessions are available as well.

What we can work on

In therapy, I get to know each of you as individuals and also focus on the relational space between you, the place where you become we instead of you and me. I integrate the Gottman Method, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Internal Family Systems, mindfulness, and practical skill-building in communication and coping.

Colleyville couples often bring communication problems, intimacy concerns, recovery after infidelity, and questions about the future. Read more about my couples and marriage therapy, or about concentrated online couples therapy intensives.

How to begin

Every new couple starts with a free phone consultation, which is required before the first appointment. Both partners attend from the very first session. We meet on SimplePractice, a secure telehealth platform, and both of you need to be located in Texas at the time of the session.

Couples sessions are $230 and individual sessions are $200. I'm out of network with all insurance and provide superbills for out-of-network reimbursement. See rates and insurance.

Questions

Therapy in Colleyville: FAQs

Do you have an office in Colleyville?

No. I'm based in nearby Southlake, but my practice has been fully online since 2020. Colleyville couples meet with me by secure video from home or another private space in Texas. Phone sessions are available too. There's no office address to visit, and I'll never ask you to come in person.

We've been married for decades. Is it too late for couples therapy?

No. Long-term couples come to therapy all the time, often at a transition like an empty nest, retirement, or a health change. Years together give you a lot to draw on, even if they've also built up some well-worn patterns. Our work is to understand those patterns with curiosity and to practice new ways of connecting.

Can our adult children join a session?

Yes, when it fits the work. I offer family therapy for adult families, including parents and grown children working on their relationship. Family sessions with three or more people are $245. Everyone joining needs to be located in Texas at the time of the session. I don't work with minors.

Will you keep secrets if you see one of us alone?

No. I have a no-secrets policy. If individual sessions become part of couples therapy and you share something your partner doesn't know, I'll work with you to disclose it yourself, either on your own or in our next couple session. This keeps me balanced and fair to both of you.

How many sessions will we need?

It depends on your goals. On average, couples attend at least 6 to 8 sessions, and many stay longer as new goals come up. I recommend weekly sessions at the start to build momentum. If you prefer every other week, I'll usually ask that your first three sessions be weekly.
