Couples & Individual Therapy for Flower Mound, Online
Couples therapy for Flower Mound residents by secure video, from my Southlake-based practice. Flower Mound is where my work with couples and families began, and I'm glad to keep serving the community online.
Online couples therapy for Flower Mound couples
I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in Southlake, practicing in North Texas since 2010 and fully online since 2020. I don't have an office in Flower Mound. Instead, I serve Flower Mound residents by secure video, and you join from home or any private space in Texas.
When your relationship hurts, you hurt. You try to communicate, but it always ends up in an argument. You keep dealing with the same problems without resolution. You want a better relationship but feel like you've tried everything. Couples therapy can help you find a way forward together.
Where my work began
Flower Mound holds a special place in my career. For two years, ending in January 2009, I worked as a contract family therapist at Youth and Family Counseling in Flower Mound. I saw individuals, couples, and families there, and I took part in the First Offender Program, which offered family therapy to teens as an alternative to legal consequences.
Today I work only with adults, but those years shaped how I see couples. Sitting with families under real pressure taught me how much of what happens between two partners was learned long before they met: how conflict was handled at home, whether feelings were welcome, who was expected to keep the peace. When a couple gets stuck, I'm often curious about those older patterns, not to assign blame, but because understanding where a reaction comes from makes it much easier to change.
It also taught me to respect the whole system around a couple. Parents, siblings, in-laws, and children all have a way of showing up in the room, even when they're not on the screen.
Why online therapy fits Flower Mound life
Flower Mound sits in a busy corner of North Texas, between Grapevine Lake and Lewisville Lake, with many people commuting along FM 2499, I-35E, or SH 121 to jobs in Dallas, Denton, or near DFW Airport. Fitting in a weekly drive to an office can feel impossible.
Meeting by video takes that off your plate. You can close a door at home and be in session within a minute, without running into anyone you know. And because the patterns you want to change happen at home, practicing new skills there tends to carry over well.
What we can work on
In couples therapy, we explore the assumptions and emotional blocks that get in the way of intimacy and healthy communication. I get to know each of you, and I also focus on the space between you, the place where you become we and us. Common concerns include:
- Conflict and communication problems
- Distance and intimacy
- Preparing for commitment through premarital counseling
- Stress between partners and their families of origin
I integrate the Gottman Method, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Internal Family Systems, mindfulness, and skill-building. Read more about couples and marriage therapy.
Preparing for marriage, or for what comes next
Some of the most hopeful work I do is with couples who aren't in crisis at all. I don't run a set premarital program, but I do work with engaged and committed couples to prepare for a lifelong, loving commitment.
Before a wedding, it's easy to focus on the day itself. In therapy, we focus on the years after: how each of your families handled conflict and money, what you expect from each other around work, faith, children, and in-laws, and how you'll repair after the hard moments that every couple eventually has. It can be a relief to finally say out loud the things you've been quietly worrying about, with someone there to help you hear each other.
How to get started
Every new couple begins with a free phone consultation, which I require before the first appointment. Both partners attend from the first session. We meet on SimplePractice, a secure telehealth platform, and both of you need to be located in Texas at the time of the session.
Couples sessions are $230, individual sessions are $200, and adult family sessions of three or more are $245. I'm out of network with all insurance and provide superbills for reimbursement. See rates and insurance.

Individual therapy for Flower Mound adults
Not here as a couple? This is for you, too.
I work primarily with couples and with individual adults. If you live in Flower Mound and want space of your own to work through anxiety, low mood, self-esteem, identity, a life transition or the patterns that keep showing up in your relationships, individual therapy gives you that, by secure video from home.
For deeper, focused work, I also offer individual therapy intensives. Individual sessions are $200 for 45 to 55 minutes, and every new client starts with a free phone consultation.

Questions
Therapy in Flower Mound: FAQs
Do you have an office in Flower Mound?
No. I worked in Flower Mound earlier in my career, but my practice today is online only and based in Southlake. Flower Mound couples meet with me by secure video or phone from home or another private space in Texas. There's no office to visit.
Did you used to work in Flower Mound?
Yes. For two years, ending in January 2009, I was a contract family therapist at Youth and Family Counseling in Flower Mound, working with individuals, couples, and families. That experience still shapes how I understand the families and histories each partner brings into a relationship.
Do you offer premarital counseling for Flower Mound couples?
Yes. I don't run a set program, but I work with engaged and committed couples to prepare for a lifelong, loving commitment. We look at communication, conflict, family expectations, money, and what each of you hopes for. Learn more about premarital counseling.
Do you see families as well as couples?
Yes, adult families. I work with parents and adult children, and with adults healing relationships with parents or siblings. Family sessions with three or more people are $245. Everyone needs to be located in Texas during the session. I don't currently see minors.
Do we both have to be at the first session?
Yes. In couples therapy, the relationship is my focus, so I need to form a balanced relationship with each of you from the start. A partner who joins later can feel outnumbered. After a free phone consultation, both of you attend together from session one.
